This is how it all started…

Jim Ogden had never ridden a horse until he was in his 40’s (unlike his wife, Maryann, who had been riding before him).

However, even though he found the passion for horses later in life, he soon made up for lost time!

He become a certified TIP trainer and was soon participating in The Extreme Mustang Makeover competitions every year with a newly trained mustang and scoring very well!

Following his success in the competitions, he began to make a name for himself inside and outside the show ring.

His passion for mustangs paired with his wife’s love of all horses, led them to start Apache Creek Mustang Rescue where they continue to train once wild mustangs, work with their existing horses, give riding lessons to people of all ages and experience levels, and continue to raise awareness for the many horses in need.
